Man found dead in Chattahoochee River Thursday in Columbus is identified by coroner
A man who was was found dead Thursday in the Chattahoochee River near Oxbow Meadows in Columbus has been identifed, according to officials.
The victim has been identified as Roderick A. Carter, 32, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Authorities were alerted to the body by a bystander on the river who called 911, according to Chief John Shull with Columbus Fire & EMS.
Bryan said the body has been sent to a lab to determine the manner of death.
