Twin Cedars to hold benefit for children

A benefit to raise money for the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home will be Aug. 23 at the RiverMill Event Centre from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The Twin Cedars Youth Services event will feature music by the A1A Margaritaville Band, food and drinks and a silent auction.

There will be a raffle drawing for a garden cottage constructed and donated by local contractor Hal Averett.

Tickets are $150 per couple. Raffle tickets are $50 each.

The Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home, on Double Churches Road, was established in Columbus in 1845 to care for orphaned and needy children.

It currently serves 50 girls who have become victims of neglect and abuse.
