Brent Martin, convicted of murdering two men on Sept. 8, 2005, was recommended for the death penalty by a jury this afternoon.
It took the jury one hour and 40 minutes to reach a vote of 10-2 for death on all three capital murder charges of which Martin was connvicted on Monday.
Martin was convicted of kidnapping and killing his brother-in-law, Johnnie Randolph III, 21, and Darryl Maurice Carrillo, 18. Their bodies were found off Wright Road in Phenix City.
He was convicted of two capital murder charges for their deaths. The third charge the jury cited as qualifying for the death penalty stemmed from killing two or more people.

Russell County Circuit Court Judge George Greene scheduled Martin's sentencing hearing for Aug. 28. He'll pass sentence after taking the jury's recommendation into account and hearing arguments from prosecutors and defense attorneys.
