A 16 year-old charged in Wednesday's slaying of a Box Springs man pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in Columbus Recorder's Court this morning.
Calvin Grimes is accused in the death of Ronald Burrous, who was shot around 9:30 p.m. during a crack cocaine deal that went awry on the corner of Veterans Parkway and Fifth Street.
His case was bound over to Muscogee Superior Court, and he is being held without bond.
Police also are searching for Melvin Williams, 17, of Columbus, in connection with the crime.

Burrous' girlfriend dropped him off at The Medical Center, then drove to Box Springs to notify the victim's family.
When the girlfriend returned to the hospital with Burrous' family two hours later, Burrous had died.
Burrous' was the 18th slaying this year in Columbus.
