A Fort Benning soldier was injured in a bar fight early Sunday, police said.
The altercation took place in the parking lot of the Oyster Bar and Saloon at 6005 Macon Road about 1:20 a.m. John Melander, 25, a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, received a cut to his throat by a knife-wielding patron, police said. Police didn't know why the two men were feuding.
Melander was taken to Martin Army Hospital where he was treated and released.
The suspect was described as a white man in his mid-40s, approximately 6-feet-tall, with gray, shoulder-length hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather vest and driving a black Harley Davidson motorcycle.
