The burned body of a person found late Friday night in a vehicle at Flat Rock Park has been identified as male.
Assistant Columbus Police Chief Charles Rowe said today the man, whose identity hasn't yet been released, was initially thought to be a woman because of his hairstyle. Further investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab determined his true gender.
Firefighters were called to the back of the park around 9 p.m. and found a Chrysler Sebring in flames in the woods. The body was found afterward.
