Two Muscogee County educators have been named counselors of the year by the Georgia School Counselors Association.
Michele Grier, a counselor at Columbus High School, and Amy E'toile Johnson, a counselor at the Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy were named Region V Counselors of the Year by the GSCA, a private non-profit association that has been instrumental in setting professional standards for school counseling in Georgia. They were nominated for the honor by the Muscogee County school system.
Grier and Johnson will be honored during an awards luncheon in November at the Georgia School Counselors State Conference in Atlanta.
