Offer input on skate park

Skaters who want to put in their two cents worth about a skate park in Columbus will get their chance.

On Thursday, the public will be able offer input on the design of a skate park the city plans to build in the South Commons where the Confederate naval museum used to be.

The meeting will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Columbus Civic Center.

In its requests for proposals from firms to design the park, the city specified that it should include two concrete bowls, a street plaza area and a picnic shelter. The city settled in June on California Skateparks of Upland, Calif.
