LaGrange College recently was bumped up to its highest ranking ever — third in its category — and was granted the college "best value" status in the annual evaluation of American colleges and universities by U.S. News & World Report, the college reports.
LaGrange was rated a top 10 school for the fourth consecutive year in the magazine's list of "Southern Baccalaureate Colleges" and for the eighth year was named a "best value."
The college's overall score rose dramatically and its peer assessment tied with no. 1 Ouachita Baptist University as best in the category. Only Arkansas's Ouachita and South Carolina's Erskine College, finishing first and second respectively, were rated ahead of LaGrange in a category that covers 12 states. Last year LaGrange was rated seventh in its class.
