Smiths Station will proclaim September as National Preparedness Month during Tuesday's city council meeting at the Smiths Station Government Center on Lee Road 430. The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.
Mayor LaFaye Dellinger will sign the proclamation is support of Ready Lee County's initiative to prepare, plan and stay informed. Smiths Station was named a StormReady Community for 2006-09 last year by the Lee County Emergency Agency. Faith Aguillard, the director of the Lee County EMA, will be present for the proclamation.
