The reservoir at Lake Walter F. George is still low and all lake users are being advised to be cautious this holiday weekend.
Bill Smallwood, the operations manager for the Apalachicola, Chattahoochee, Flint Project said, "Public access to the lake is not significantly limited at these levels but we are reminding boaters and swimmers to watch out for underwater hazards. There are stumps and trees in Lake Walter F. George that were left in the reservoirs to improve fishing and fish structure. There are also underwater shoals and other shallow areas that might cause boats to run aground."
Smallwood cautioned swimmers and waders that even though the water is low there are still deep holes and drop-offs at bottom and sides of boat ramps.
