The police department in LaGrange, Ga., has been awarded a federal equipment grant for a Zistos brand 1st Responder Video System valued at more than $7,000.
The portable self-powered waterproof pole camera system operates on a 9-foot articulating telescoping pole that can be used to search confined spaces for both tactical operations and rescue work.
The grant award comes as the result of the Commercial Equipment Direct Assistance Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
LaGrange police competed with hundreds of public safety agencies across the country.
