Johnny Grier of Columbus has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime after the shooting of Frederick Fowler at midnight.
Police say Fowler, 35, and Grier, 64, were playing cards at 100 Havenbrook Court when they began to argue. Police say Grier then pulled out a pistol and shot Fowler in the left cheek. The bullet went down into Fowler's upper torso and came to rest near his collar bone.
Fowler is listed in critical condition this morning at The Medical Center.
