A Columbus pawn shop was robbed and the clerk stabbed Thursday morning, Columbus police said.
At 11:30 a.m., a man — about 17 to 25 years old — entered A-1 Pawn Shop on Victory Drive and asked to see a wedding band set. When the clerk set the merchandise on the counter, the man said he would take it and pulled out an unknown sharp object, Lt. Vince Pasko said.
He stabbed the clerk below his breastbone, then took the rings. The robber left in an older model blue and silver Honda Accord with the tag number, ABZ3559. Pasko said the tag has been reported stolen by the owner.
The clerk was treated by emergency medical services personnel at the scene.
