Brent Martin, convicted of the capital murders of two young men in September 2005, was sentenced to death today.
Martin, 34, sat quietly when Russell County Circuit Court Judge George Greene imposed the sentence for the murders of Johnnie Randolph III, 21, and Darryl Maurice Carrillo, 18.
Martin was convicted in August of kidnapping Alicia Dixon; her daughter, Amari Dixon; and Nakayla Randolph, the niece of Johnnie Randolph III, along with the two victims on the fatal day. He shot both men execution-style on Wright Road in Phenix City.
"He took a life," said Rick Carrillo, Darryl Carrillo's father. "He needs his life taken. He took two lives."
