Tonight marks the store-level bartender championship at T.G.I. Friday's. Seven of the restaurant's bartenders will show off their talents in hopes of winning a spot at the regional final in Atlanta. Eventually, winners will have a chance to move on to the world championship level.
Admission is free, but bring money for an auction, raffle and donations. All proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
While bartenders may be smiling tonight, the competition is serious stuff. Its inaugural world champion trained actors Tom Cruise and Bryan Brown for the 1988 film "Cocktail," a movie about a bartender who finds love while working at a Jamaica bar.
The party starts at 6 p.m. at T.G.I. Friday's, 3116 Adams Farm Dr. in Columbus. Call 706-321-0963.
