Charter Scholarship opens up application process

The Charter Scholarship, named to reflect the University of Georgia's distinction as the nation's first state-chartered public university, recognizes first-year students who have stellar academic records, as well as leadership and community involvement. Students should also have a commitment toward intellectual, social cultural diversity, according to a press release.

In-state students receive $1,000 per year in addition to the HOPE scholarship.
