Visitors can watch mock Civil War battles, see old-time craftsmen at work and shop for arts and crafts during the Andersonville Historic Fair Oct. 6-7 in Andersonville, Ga.
Confederate and Union encampments will be set up, giving visitors a taste of how difficult life could be for troops of the North and South.
The Drummer Boy Civil War Museum will be open and plenty of food, activities for children and live entertainment will be available. The event is sponsored by the Andersonville Guild and the Andersonville Town Council.
Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Admission is $4 for adults and $1.50 for children. Andersonville is 21 miles northeast of Plains and just north of Americus on Georgia Highway 49.
