The Alabama Cooperative Extension Service is sponsoring a recreational fish pond management meeting Sept. 26.
The program will be at the Austin Sumbry Park on Old Seale Highway in Phenix City. It will begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
The meeting is open to the public for $6. The price includes a fish fry.
Participants must register by Sept. 24 with the Russell County Extension Service and should call 334-298-6845 for information.

Speakers will include Rusty Wright a fisheries extension specialist, Claude Reeves an extension aquaculturist, Graves Lovell a district fisheries biologist and James Key a professional bass fisherman.
Topics will include liming, fertilizing, causes of oxygen depletion, balance checks, population control, weed control, pond construction and aeration.
