Crowds cheer for 210 University of Phoenix graduates

Proud parents, children, aunts and uncles waved, whistled and hollered Saturday morning at the Columbus Civic Center for 210 graduates receiving degrees from the University of Phoenix.

The graduation was the first for the Columbus campus, which opened in 2004. Students receiving their bachelors and masters degrees took courses either online or at the Columbus campus.

Sociologist and author Bertice Berry gave the commencement speech.

University of Phoenix also has campus in Atlanta, Savannah and Augusta.
