Lanett man robbed at gunpoint

A man was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon, Lanett police said.

According to a Lanett police department press release, the victim was walking along Cherry Drive in Lanett at around 2 p.m., when Draco Phillips and Desmond Noel Jackson drove by.

Phillips turned around and pulled over and Jackson began to argue with the victim over money he allegedly owed him.

Jackson pulled out a black semi-automatic rifle and ordered the victim to empty his pockets.

Phillips pulled out a small black handgun and Jackson took the victim's cell phone.

Phillips and Jackson drove off; both were arrested by Valley police shortly thereafter and charged with robbery.
