Police investigating morning robbery

Columbus Police are investigating the armed robbery of the Marathon convenience store, 3600 Second Ave., about 6 a.m. Monday just as the store was about to be opened.

As a clerk was going to the front door, two men approached wearing masks and gloves and ordered the store opened, said Columbus Police Lt. Steve Cox. One man was brandishing a handgun.

The men took an undetermined amount of cash and fled on foot. No one was injured, Cox said.
