Syrup to be Made at Carter Farm

The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site will have a free demonstration of how syrup is made on Saturday from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

The demonstrations on the former president's boyhood farm will include cutting and grinding sugarcane and boiling the sweet juice down to cane syrup.

Francis the mule will demonstrate how mule power was used to grind sugarcane into sweet cane juice.
