Fire damages alleged crack house

A Sunday fire that apparently started in a closet of a vacant house at 2936 Ninth St. caused an estimated $20,000 damage to the structure, Columbus Fire & Emergency Medical Services Chief Fire Marshal Greg Lang said Monday.

Lang said the fire was reported at 6:15 p.m. and was extinguished quickly. The cause is undetermined, but the fire under investigation.

Neighbors reported the house is known to have been used as a crack cocaine house, Lang said.
