Opelika drug sweep nets 18

Opelika police arrested 18 people on drug charges Monday and Tuesday and are looking for eight more.

The arrests resulted from a three-month undercover drug operation into the sale of controlled substances conducted by the Opelika Police department, the Alabama Beverage Control Board, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

During July, August and September, undercover officers purchased quantities of marijuana, crack cocaine and powder cocaine from a number of street-level dealers in Opelika.

A total of 26 suspects were identified during the course of the investigation.

The following people were arrested Tuesday:

•Felicia Moody Floyd, 32, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Marcos Hernandez Alcudia, 35, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Darlene Alcudia, 42, of Opelika, charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Tony Milner, 32, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Robin Lacarris Clifton, 46, of Opelika, charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•James Lamar Pettus, 31, of Opelika, charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances and one count of unlawful possession or receipt of controlled substances.



•Lamarcus Montrez Driver, 27, of Opelika, charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Ronald Welborn, 52, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Harold Lee Glaze, 55, of Opelika, charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Martha Elaine Moore, 51, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Durr Ashmore, 69, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Demetris Sanchez Moore, 18, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•George Dooley, 25, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



The following people were currently in police custody on unrelated charges and were served their indictments on Monday:

•Mary Frances Ogletree, 43, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Karen Louise Malone, 48, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•George Willie Hugley, 24, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•James Haywood Waldrop, 26, of Opelika, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.



•Luther Lamark Menefield, 25, of Auburn, charged with one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substances.
