Hunters, Anglers Have Big Impact

Georgia's 1.1 million hunters and anglers are among the most prominent and influential of all demographic groups, spending more $1.8 million a year on hunting and fishing.

That's according to a report "Hunting and Fishing: Bright Stars of the American Economy - A force As Big As Outdoors" produced by the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation in Washington, D.C.

In Georgia, spending by hunters and anglers directly supports 31,000 jobs which puts $909 million worth of paychecks in pockets of working residents.

The economic stimulus of hunting and fishing equates to $5 million a day being pumped into the state's economy.
