Auburn police offer safety academy

The Auburn police department is offering residents a chance to learn more about public safety.

The police department will begin a 10-week Citizens' Public Safety Academy course on March 6.

Classes will be held every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and cover topics such as police, fire, communications and code enforcement services.

Graduation will be on May 8.

The free program is open to any Auburn resident over the age of 18. Citizens interested in participating in the academy are encouraged to apply early due to limited seating.
