Peter Bowden, president and chief executive officer of the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau, has been appointed by the Georgia Tourism Foundation to the State Tourism Advisory Board.
Bowden is a lifelong resident of Columbus who has been with the CCVB for more than 12 years. He has been in his current position for the last four.
The Georgia Tourism Foundation is a public-private entity created for the express purpose of expanding the state's tourism economic impact.
A CCVB release says that travel and tourism is the second largest industry in Georgia with more than 961,000 visitors to Columbus.
