Aflac makes list of best companies to work for

For the tenth year in a row, Aflac Inc. made Fortune Magazine's annual list of 100 Best Companies to Work for in America.

It settled in at the number 30 spot — making it the top ranked business headquartered in Georgia to make the list.

"It is a great honor to be distinguished among the best workplaces in America for the tenth year in a row," said Dan Amos, Aflac chairman and chief executive officer. "This recognition exemplifies Aflac's talented, dedicated and resilient employees who consistently deliver excellence."

Aflac was recognized for letting shareholders have a say on pay vote in 2008 and its top compensation package. The magazine also cited its philanthropy, diversity, job creation and on-site child care program.

More than 400 companies were evaluated based on their corporate policies, culture and employee surveys.

The complete list and related stories will appear in the February 4 issue of Fortune, available on newsstands Monday. It is also available online now at www.fortune.com.
