Synovus CEO to talk with Citi analysts in New York

Synovus Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Anthony will address stock market analysts at a conference next week in New York, the company said Wednesday.

Anthony will speak at the 2008 Citi Financial Services Conference, which is being held Jan. 30 at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel.

The meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. and will be broadcast live.

Columbus-based Synovus Financial Corp. is a regional bankholding firm that oversees $32 billion in assets. It has 37 banks, 440 ATMs, and other offices in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.

The company spun off its subsidiary, TSYS, a third-party payment processing firm, on Dec. 31.
