Lee schools seek public input

The Lee County school system is soliciting more input from the public on building schools in Smiths Station.

The district will hold an open forum on Monday, February 4, at 7 p.m. at the Smiths Station High School cafeteria.

The needs for the Smiths Station building program will be discussed.

The school board has talked about plans to build a new high school in the area to help cope with growth expected after the U.S. Army relocates the Armor School from Fort Knox, Ky., to Fort Benning.

The new school will hold about 1,400 to 1,500 students.
