The public will get the opportunity to voice its opinion on the building needs in the Lee County School System's Smiths Station attendence zone.
An open forum on the issue will take place at 7 p.m. EST Monday at the Smiths Station High School cafeteria. Smiths Station is the fastest growing school zone in the system and the school-aged population has exceeded the capacity of its permanent school plant.
Smiths Station High School uses a number of trailers to help with the overflow of students. The forum gives the citizens of the community the opportunity to discuss the building program. The schools in the Smiths Station attendance zone are the high school, Smiths Station Intermediate, Smiths Station Primary, Wacoochee Junior High and Smiths Station Elementary.
