The Muscogee County School District English for Speakers of Other Languages Department is having the fifth of a series of informative workshops for parents of ESOL and immigrant students.
ESOL is working with representatives from the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Columbus State University and community agencies such as the Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement to present monthly workshops to discuss topics that affect children who are not English speaking.
This next workshop will be Friday, Feb. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Spencer High School.
Student financial aid will be the topic.
Future topics will be community agencies and programs for children on March 14 and orientation on immigration law and recent changes on April 18.
