LaGrange, Manchester get loans

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue has announced the approval of $31.7 million in loans to finance water, sewer and reservoir infrastructure improvements including nine Georgia Fund Loan agreements.

Two of those went to area towns.

LaGrange was approved for a Georgia Fund Loan of $1,000,000 to help finance the construction of 30,000 feet of water line to supply wholesale water to Hogansville. The city will pay 4.1 percent interest on the 20-year loan. The total project cost is $1,000,000 with the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority providing the entire amount.

Manchester was approved for a Georgia loan of $2,060,608 to help finance improvements to the city's wastewater treatment facility. The city will pay 4.1 percent interest on the 20-year loan.
