Annual JROTC military ball attracts large crowd

More than 1,300 JROTC cadets ,family members and others attended the 2008 Muscogee County School District JROTC Military Ball Saturday night at the Columbus Georgia Convention and Trade Center.

Cadets from JROTC programs in the MCSD, along with Central High School of Talbotton, Chattahoochee County High School, Randolph Clay High School, Russell County High School and Smiths Station High School took part in an evening of dancing and special events, such as the crowning of thirteen female cadets.

Each school's representative was escorted underneath an arch of sabers, crowned and presented flowers. The saber arch was done by JROTC students from Jordan High School. The JROTC program in Muscogee County is led by Colonel (Ret.) R. George Plummer.
