South Korea-based automaker Kia Motors is among the firms that will be attending. The company needs to fill 2,500 positions for its assembly plant in West Point, Ga., when it opens in November 2009.
The Labor Department anticipates more than 2,000 job seekers showing up for the fair. Assistance for those needing help updating their resumes and filling out online applications will be available.
The job fair is one of three large recruiting events held locally each year. The others typically take place in May at Fort Benning and in September at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Victory Drive.
