Students, parents, and teachers from G.W. Carver High School, with the help of Fort Benning soldiers, did their part to keep Columbus clean during a community clean-up effort Saturday morning.
The event, co-sponsored by the school and the Turn Around Columbus Project, began Saturday morning after a brief orientation at the high school, attended by Columbus Mayor Jim Wetherington.
Wearing bright green t-shirts, the crews bagged garbage and debris scattered throughout Wynnton and the East Carver heights area as other volunteers, from Fathers Being Involved(FBI) cut grass for senior citizens unable to do it for themselves
