Georgia Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox has designated more than 80 Georgia High Schools as Advanced Placement Honor Schools.
Columbus High is an AP Merit school.
An AP Merit School is one in which at least 20 percent of its students take AP exams and at least half of its AP exams receive a score of 3 or higher.
Advanced placement classes and exams are administered by the College Board and offer rigorous college-level learning options to students in high school.
