Hughston Orthopedic Hospital awarded Diane Morris with its 2007 Frist Humanitarian Award as Employee of the Year.
Morris — who is assistant director of perioperative services — will receive a $500 cash gift, a Frist pin and plaque, and her own parking space at Hughston for a year.
The Frist Humanitarian Award honors one employee and one volunteer at each HCA facility who show extraordinary concern for patient and community well-being. It's given annually in memory of the late Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr., an HCA founder.
Morris is also now in the running for HCA Inc.'s 2007 Frist Humanitarian Award, the highest honor an HCA employee can receive. Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA is Hughston's parent company that owns medical facilities in 20 states.
