Idol down to 24 singers

There's an Australian heartthrob, a blond crooner who has never seen an R-rated movie and a former boy band member with a reported history of dating Britney Spears.

Those are just some of the back stories surrounding the remaining 24 contestants on the seventh season of "American Idol." The semifinalists were revealed Wednesday night at the conclusion of the reality TV show's Hollywood Week.

This season's Top 24 are: Alaina Whitaker, Alexandrea Lushington, Amanda Overmyer, Amy Davis, Asia'h Epperson, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikezie Eze, Colton Berry, Danny Noriega, David Archuleta, David Cook, David Hernandez, Garrett Haley, Jason Castro, Jason Yeager, Joanne Borgella, Kady Malloy, Kristy Lee Cook, Luke Menard, Michael Johns, Ramiele Malubay, Robbie Carrico and Syesha Mercado.
