Using your cell phone to keep track of everything from fraud alerts to whether or not bills have been paid looks to become a reality with a suite of services being developed by TSYS and a United Kingdom firm.
Columbus-based TSYS and UK-based Telrock plc said Thursday they are now working on mobile phone services that will be offered to TSYS clients in North America. The two companies already are marketing the services to customers in Europe.
No financial details were released.
"The expansion of our partnership with TSYS marks an important milestone for Telrock and we welcome the opportunity to extend our proven mobile solutions into the North American market,” Russell Robinson, managing director of Telrock plc, said in a statement.

TSYS is a global third-party outsource firm for banks and retailers, handling payments and transactions that include credit and debit cards, health care, loyalty and prepaid services.
Telrock, founded in 2000, said the North American agreement will give it access to more than 200 million cardholders, with Robinson saying it gives his firm a "strong foothold in the U.S. market."
The cell phone services will include fraud alerts, account notifications, customer inquiries, money transfers and payment information, the companies said.
"We are pleased to be working with Telrock to deliver the first piece of our multifaceted mobile commerce strategy,” Matt Jardina, TSYS' group executive for Value Added Products, said in a statement. "Our processing solutions enable companies to get new products to the market faster, improve efficiency and boost profitability."
TSYS' worldwide footprint includes established and developing customer bases in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia and South America.
