Five Men on a Stool, an Atlanta-based jazz group with a little bit of spoken word, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in University Hall (formerly called the Fine Arts Hall) on the Columbus State University main campus.
It is a fund-raiser for the Columbus alumnae chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
The group celebrated its 10th anniversary together on Thursday.
Five Men on a Stool are Stewart, trumpeter Melvin M. Miller, guitarist Eric Essix, saxophonist Antonio Allen and singer Kermit Quinn. While they all live in Atlanta, only Allen is an Atlanta native. Stewart is from Florida, Miller is from Chicago, Essix is from Alabama and Quinn is from Ohio.
