Armed robbers hit chicken restaurant

As employees of Church's Chicken, 528 Brown Ave., were closing the restaurant and walking out Tuesday night, two men, one flashing a handgun, confronted them at the door and forced them back inside, Columbus Police Lt. Charles Kennedy said Wednesday.

The men then made the manager open a cash register and the safe around 11 p.m. and took an undisclosed amount of money. They were seen running from the store, Kennedy said.

The robber with the pistol was described as in his 20s, 6-foot-2, muscular build and wearing a black sweat shirt and hoodie. His partner was described as in his 20s, 5-foot-8, heavy build, wearing a black jacket with hoodie and with a stocking over his face.

No injuries were report. The case is under investigation.
