Idol's top 12 women perform tonight

The 12 remaining women take the stage on "American Idol" tonight, marking the second half of the show's first semifinal round.

Tuesday, the top 12 men performed, in a night that generated a sea of lukewarm performances with just a few noteworthy standouts. This is the first season semifinalists have had to sing songs of a specific genre -- '60s music this week -- and the theme undoubtedly hurt some male contestants. Repeatedly, the judges labeled songs "forgettable."

The night's standouts included Australian heartthrob Michael Johns, a former Atlanta-area band member, as well as teen David Archuleta, a former "Star Search" champion.

Tonight's show starts at 8 p.m. on Fox. Thursday, two contestants -- one male, one female -- will be eliminated.
