Phenix City police are awaiting results on an autopsy being conducted on an elderly Phenix City man whose body was discovered by his daughter Friday evening in a large garbage can outside his residence.
The body of Jimmie Lee Williams, 75, was found fully clothed in the trash can near the 705 9th Ave. South residence about 4 p.m. Friday, said Capt. Frank Ivey with the Phenix City Police Department.
The body was sent to Montgomery for an autopsy, Ivey said.
"It's possibly a natural death," Ivey said Monday. "He had been reported missing the day before. We are awaiting results."
