Columbus' downtown post office is holding a special Saturday Passport Fair on March 15, offering folks who might not be able to get to the post office during the normal passport application hours the chance for one.
It will be 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on March 15, and should especially appeal to people who work during the week or need passports for children who are in school on weekdays, post office officials say. The downtown post office, at 120 Twelfth St., is normally closed on Saturdays. As of Feb. 1, a traditional passport book for adults costs $100, or $85 for children. A new passport card, good for travel between the States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean, costs $45 for adults or $35 for children.
