The Russell County School district will be celebrating National School Breakfast Week next week.
Each of the district's seven schools will host a variety of events during the week of March 3-7, including a poster contest, essay contest and nutrition day.
Research has shown that children who eat breakfast at school score better on standardized tests, have fewer health issues and behave better in class, according to a school district news release.
