A Lanett woman was arrested after being accused of shoplifting from a department store in Auburn.
Auburn police arrested 36-year-old Beverly Mitchell Orange and charged her with second-degree theft of property on Thursday, Feb. 28.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into a shoplifting complaint at the Dillard's department store in the Colonial Mall. The stolen property, valued at $1,600, was recovered.
Orange was transported to the Lee County jail to await bond.

Second degree theft of property is a Class C felony punishable by one to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
