Auburn gas station robbed at gunpoint

A gas station in Auburn was robbed by an armed man Sunday night.

Auburn police officers responded to reports of a robbery at about 10:45 p.m. at the Chevron in the 1900 block of South College Street.

The clerk at the store told police that a white man in his early 20s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the business with a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

After taking an undetermined amount of cash, he fled on foot.

According to a news release, the suspect is described as being about six feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a charcoal-colored hooded sweatshirt, a light-colored shirt, dark jeans and brown shoes.
