The annual Army Emergency Relief campaign kicked off Monday and will run through April 30 at Fort Benning.
All unit representatives have received packets which will be distributed to all personnel on post. Cash contributions and allotments will be accepted.
Last year, the AER provided $2.5 million to Fort Benning active duty soldiers, retirees, family members and widows/widowers last year. Worldwide, more than $70 million was given to 64,000 soldiers and their families to help in such things as emergency leaves for death, illness and other family emergencies.
